 SEMINAR ON "ELECTRICAL ENERGY CONSERVATION & ALTERNATE SOURCES"
HELD ON 26TH AUGUST,2006 AT KARACHI
The Institution of Engineers Pakistan, Karachi Centre has arranged a Seminar on “Electrical Energy Conservation and Alternate Sources” in collaboration with Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, on Saturday the 26th August,,2006 at Karachi. Air Marshal (Retd) Shahid Hamid, Chairman, Alternative Energy Development Board, Government of Pakistan, was the Chief Guest at the Inaugural Session. Mr. Frank Schmidt, Chief Executive Officer, Karachi Electric Supply Corporation Ltd., was the guest of honour.
The Seminar started from recitation of Holy Quran by Engr.Anwar ul Haq Siddiqui. Engr.Zaffar Zuberi, Chairman, IEP Karachi Centre presented the welcome address.
Keynote Address was presented by Engr.Muhammad Sameeh Shafi, Vice-Chairman (Electrical), IEP Karachi Centre and Convener of the Seminar.
Engr. Ayaz Mirza, Vice-Chairman (Mechanical) and Secretary, IEP Karachi Centre conducted the seminar. In the end, he presented vote of thanks.
The Congress was spread over 2 technical sessions and the following paper were presented.
TECHNICAL SESSION – 1 (ALTERNATE SOURCES)
The first technical session was chaired by Air Marshal (Retd) Shahid Hamid, Chairman, Alternative Energy Development Board, Government of Pakistan. Mr.Frank Schmidt, Chief Executive Officer, Karachi Electric Supply Corporation Ltd., was the Co-Chairman.
